Whilst legislation does not contain any requirement for an abnormal load to be escorted, standards do exist in regards to notifying the movement of any abnormal load to local authorities. Police forces now encourage private escorting services of such loads and that’s where we come in. Our escort vehicles all comply to the Highways England Code of Practice, for lighting and marking for abnormal load self-escorting vehicles operating guidelines, stating that the vehicles must be of a conspicuous colour to other road users and pedestrians and must also have flashing warning beacons as well as the obligatory lighting requirements of any vehicle.
